Hey Ron!

Great job on the Golden Rule and the distinction of positive and negative.

What do you make of the “new” Golden Rule being presented by some gurus: “Do unto others as they wish to be done unto?”

I agree with it. The “change” is more about how to do good to someone else, than whether to do good. Positively doing good for someone necessitates knowing the other person enough to know what they would consider a positive.

I think of it like I think of gift giving. You could give someone a gift you’d like to have, which would seem good, but you should give someone a gift they would like. In order to know what they would like you have to care enough to find out.
